Today is the day of Ava's magnificently fun-filled birthday party, and I am sure that Ness will have a nice entry detailing it up tonight or tomorrow. But I just wanted to vocalize a Daddy's pride swelling at his kids growing up. For example ...
Quick Story #1 - Eli walks around these days counting from 1-14. I don't know why he stops at 14, but really I don't care either. It's still neat. Also, a few days ago I was talking on the phone with Papaw and Eli REALLY wanted a drink. He couldn't get my attention with "BA-BA PLEASE!!!". So he tugged at me and said (and I quote) "May I Have A Ba-Ba Pllllleeeeeaaaassssseeeeeeeeeee". And so he did ... quickly too.
Quick Story #2 - As most of our faithful readers know, Ava loves to put together puzzles. After last night I do believe she is ready for 100 piece puzzles. The above puzzle is a 63 piece puzzle (Thank you Grammy). Less than 20 minutes - very little help from mom and dad. She is so amazing to me. She has this ability to concentrate for long periods of time, and she always has to finish a task (and usually by herself). She asks us for jobs around the house she can do to help. (So far she has 5 regular jobs). She makes her own bed well every day and sometimes Eli's too. And she answers yes/no sentences sometimes in Japanese as well as says "Konnichi wa" to me every morning. These things may not be out of the ordinary for a 4 year but still I watch her growing up with amazement. And lastly, don't think for a moment that I don't realize who in this family is primarily responsible for Eli's rapid development in speech development lately. It isn't me who talks to Eli unendingly.
Sorry so wordy. Stay tuned for a better, more concise, and definitely more witty entry concerning Ava's party from Ness.

Happy Birthday Ava!!! Wish I were there to give you and Eli big hugs and fun presents but this I guess will have to do. Love you all! Have a blast today!!! Hope you get all you've been wanting for your birthday:)
happy b-day, Ava! Can't believe how big you are getting! And nobody is surprised at your genius. Nobody.
Thanks for writing, Eric. I like to hear dads discuss the merits of their precious children.
Sorry the puzzle was too easy. Next time it'll be closer to 200 pieces...:)
